Katie Holmes Sued Star Magazine

Publishers of Star Magazine were sued of libel case by Katie Holmes over a cover of the magazine apparently insinuating her as a drug addict. The actress reportedly filed a lawsuit against American Media Inc, stating that the January cover issue was false, malicious and does not support the real story in the magazine.

Holmes was quoted to have said that, "Of all the fabricated stories that continue to be published about me, this instance is beyond the pale", and continued that,"The publisher knew this outrageous story was false and printed it anyway to sell magazines"

And in this issue, the tabloid-Star Magazine explained that they are standing by their own statements in lieu of the controversy stated that the Star Magazine fully stands behind the editorial integrity of what they have published concerning Holmes' controversial use of the Scientology 'e-meter. And said in a statement that reads, "The physical effect of the e-meter on its users is a matter of significant public concern and we plan to vigorously defend the suit filed by Ms. Holmes", and the statement continues on, "Our attorneys look forward to deposing Ms. Holmes about her experiences with Scientology and the e-meter, and expect that the case will be promptly dismissed by the court,"
